β-Ga₂O₃ power devices can significantly increase the charging speed of new energy vehicles. In the EV sector, where the shift toward higher voltages is increasingly evident, β-Ga₂O₃ devices are expected to cut charging time to one-quarter of current levels. For example, a fast charge that currently takes around 30 minutes could be reduced to approximately 7 minutes. In addition, β-Ga₂O₃ devices are well suited for 800 V on-board fast-charging platforms and even higher-voltage architectures in the future.

In the traction inverter—the heart of a vehicle's electric drive system—β-Ga₂O₃ converts the battery's direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) to power the motor. Thanks to its ultra-low on-resistance and exceptionally high switching efficiency, β-Ga₂O₃ inverters can extend the driving range of new energy vehicles by more than 10%, with some data indicating gains of up to 20%.
